Heaton Stannington 3 - 2 Shields United (friendly) (July 25, 2010)
Shields United played two very different halves of football yesterday going to down 3-2 to premier division outfit Heaton Stannington.  United gifted them a 2 - 0 head start when lack of leadership or responsiblity left Heatons number 20 twice in 15 yards of space, the first time he went on and scored, the second keeper newbrook pulled down and he scored the resulting penalty.

Richy Pinkney started up front and had a couple of great chances although he couldnt claw one back and united trailed 2-0 at half time.

Aristote Guerin and Antony Abladey made second have dbuts and were a constant threat to the Heaton back line, a completely different performance second half from United saw then pull a goal back through skipper Michael Pittuck and then their only lack on concentration let Heaton back in with an untidy defensive showing, tijan Kah and Aristote both had chances to claw one back but failed to take them, but United did get another back on 91 minutes when Abladey todly went past the winger and crossed for Assan Jallow to score.

Our fitness levels were a great boost and althought a result would have been nice scores are not important at this stage of the season.
