Latest NewsNewbrook Going Nowhere (July 22, 2010)
Shields United have just released a statement to the press confirming that goalkeeper Shaun newbrook has rejected an approach from a Northern league club and has committed himself to the South Shields club for the 2010-11 season. The latest round of talks happened tonight at manager Gareth Allens house where Newbrook confirmed he did not want to leave,
Manager Allen said
"Shaun should first of all be commended for his professionalism in todays modern game, he has kept me in the loop when the club in question has made an unofficial approach, he came to my house tonight and over a meal we agreed Shaun was going nowhere, it didnt take no persuasion on my part, he wanted things in the open and told me he is happy with the way the club has progressed and is happy with the squad we have put togethor.
The Bond the players seem to have in pre-season has been excellent and I also beleive this was a reason he didnt want to leave. We know how good Shaun is and how good he can be and we will no doubt have more appraoches but as long as Shaun says he is happy here them we are more than happy to have him.
Shaun has been here from day one at the club and been a huge part of the clubs success and I have no doubt he will win more trophies with us. Click here to return to the News page |
